Your Never Going To Believe This One!!

Once again it's official...Kaiden has broken his leg! Oh but wait...this time he broke his RIGHT leg (tibia to be exact)! Sad, but true! Last night after carving pumpkins Kaiden fell on the kitchen floor. No mess was on the ground, just a simple slip from the cast on his left leg/foot and boom...another broken leg!

We were schedule to have the left foot/leg cast removed on Wednesday. Instead this morning Kaiden went in to remove one cast and got another put on. Our poor baby! Now we're on watch to ensure he's very careful and doesn't over use either foot or leg! This cast is scheduled to come off on November 18th! Say a prayer that it actually does come off and that we're injury free for many more months & years to follow!

Since Kaiden is now a regular at the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic in Portland, the ladies in the office help make him as happy as possible. I guess they feel it's the least they can do since with each visit we seem to get more bad news! So...Kaiden received assistance in wrapping up Nihma's legs and feet! They now have an even great bond to share!

Pumpkin Carving 2008

This afternoon Kaiden, Matt and I carved pumpkins. Kaiden and I worked on a Mickey Mouse pumpkin while Matt created one of his own design. Shortly after Matt finished, Kaiden fell in the Kitchen. This time it's his right leg! So stay tuned...looks like i'll be making another trip to the orthopedic clinic to see if any damage was done to the right leg or foot.

Thoughts and Prayers

Yesterday afternoon my dear friend Billy shared with me that his mother passed away from cancer. The news has saddened (if that is even a word) me deeply! Billy (a.k.a William) has always been there for me since my freshman year of high school. His parents are so wonderful and sweet! Thew news of Linda's passing was shocking! I had just seen Linda and Dick at Ari's baptism less than a month ago.

Since the news I've experienced a roller coaster of feelings. I find myself giving Matt and the boys an over abundance of kisses and hugs!

The world has lost a sweet honest caring soul!

Smith Boys Winter Playground

With the cold weather now upon us, I thought it might be a good idea to convert the garage into an additional play area for the boys. We purchased some fun colored floor tile pads and then placed Kaiden's climbing stucture on top. Now both boys can climb up on the structure safely. We even made sure there was room around the perimeter for Kaiden to ride his bike and/or big wheel around.

Daddy Wins!

I would say it's pretty official. Matt has won the mommy or daddy contest. Conley is constantly saying daad daad daad daad! That's ok though...i get the tears when i leave a room!!!! :) I'll put my money on the table now that "mommy" will be the first word he actually associates something to....ha ha!

It's Official...It's Broken!

So...today was Kaiden's big day. He was scheduled to finally get his cast off and we would all be free once again. After the torcher of removing the cast they took a few x-rays. We're not sure how, but his first set of x-rays never showed that his foot was actually broken. And we're not talking a slight break either, he did a pretty number on himself. According to the x-ray we saw today, Kaiden broke his tibia from his ankle going up and in towards his knee about one to two inches long!!!! My poor baby!
I wanted to laugh, when i heard Matt say wow...he really was hurt! I turned, smiled and said a mother always knows best...you can't argue with a mother's intuition! With that being said...I should probably appologize to my mother for all the times she was right and i was wrong. Of course this didn't happen very often since i'm so perfect...LOL!
Anyway...Kaiden is now in cast #2 for another two weeks. He requested the orange cast this time and then followed it up by saying "Go Beavs!" What a smart boy!

Mr. Clean/Mr. Fix It

What have we created? Kaiden is use to watching and helping my mother, Matt or I clean that he is now as obsessed as we are! The boy wants to vacuum daily. Heck...yesterday he used the Shark Steam Cleaner and did the floors throughout the entire house!!!! You would think this passion for cleaning and building things would be great. Well...it is, but man oh man...take these things away from him and you've got one ticked off child! Just see the photo below!

Uncle Jerod & Aunt Ra Ra's Birthday Dinner

Monday evening we drove out to Clackamas to celebrate Jerod & Maria's birthday's. We dressed the boys up in one of their many matching outfits and tried to get photos of the three. Conley is a moving machine these day, so getting him to sit down was a bit difficult. Kaiden as always was off on his own too. Then there is perfect little Ari. The little man started rolling around recently, but I think Kaiden and Conley had him a little shell shocked at all their movement. She he flipped over once and then watched for the remainder of the evening.

The Latest Professional Shots of the Smith Boys

These photos were taken by Jennifer Lynn Photography (a.k.a Aunt Jenny) over the last month. Jenn has taken so many good photos of our boys that I have the hardest time figuring out which ones to print and hang in the house! Thank goodness for digital scrapbooking. Of course i need to get my rear in gear and get going on making my books too.
Just add it to the million other things on my list of things i need or want to do!

The Pumpkin Patch 2008

Today the Smith Family joined the Fitzgerald's (Jerod, Maria & Ari) and Grandma Fitz at the pumpkin patch! Even with Kaiden's cast still on, we trampled through the mud to pick the perfect pumpkin.

We originally had plans on visiting the pumpkin patch later in the month, but with the beautiful day upon us we couldn't pass the opportunity up.

How cute is this little man!
